Feels odd to say, but we are halfway through 2020. June’s right around the corner with new content to binge on. The region is slowly returning to the “normal” life we once knew, and while some are hitting the beach, others will remain on the couch. From the first Saudi-thriller show, Whispers, to Stray Bullet starring GQ’s cover-star Nadine Labaki, here’s what’s coming next. It’s time to update your watchlist on Netflix, Starzplay, and OSN Streaming.

Ramy: Season 2

The Golden Globes awarded comedy returns for a second season. The comedy, starring Ramy Youssef and now Moonlight’s Mahershala Ali, follows confused-millennial, Ramy and his attempts to prove himself worthy as a Muslim. Currently, only four episodes are available for streaming, but the rest will arrive next week.

May 30 to mid-June Watch on OSN Streaming

Blade Runner 2049

The sequel they didn’t think could be done, pulled off in spectacular fashion by Denis Villeneuve. Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford and a soundtrack and scale that will drop your jaw. Prepare for a dystopian movie night like no other, as the original Blade Runner is also available on Netflix.

The eight-episode show explores social issues through the lens of six expectation-defying women who must deal with the death of the family patriarch. The cast includes emerging talent alongside Saudi-actor Abdulmohsen Alnemr.

LAs Finest

In the world of Bad Boys resides this action spinoff series starring Jessica Alba as the new LAPD detective, Nancy McKenna, and Gabrielle Union as Sydney Burnett. From Burnett’s off-book operations to McKenna’s sunny personality, Syd and Nancy make an odd pair but find common ground fighting crime.

Justice League

Here’s one for all the DC fans. Batman assembles a team with fellow superheroes, inviting Aquaman and Wonder Woman to derail a new enemy. Just recently, it has been announced by director Zach Snyder that a new cut of the film will be released next year on HBO Max as he wasn’t able to be a part of post-production in 2016.

The Leftovers

After the “Sudden Departure”, two per cent of the world’s population has vanished. In Mapleton, New York, a community of people struggle to rebuild their lives. The grim series, starring Justin Theroux, is based on the eponymous novel by Tom Perrotta. All three seasons of the HBO series will be available to stream.

Avengers: Infinity War

If you weren’t lucky enough to watch this in theatres, here’s your chance get your Marvel fix. The 2018 grand-slam is available on your computer screens this month. Watch your favourite superheroes battle against Thanos, (Josh Brolin), and strive for intergalactic order. Make sure there’s enough popcorn, it’s a long one.
