More good news for fans of the three stripes.

To coincide with Sole DXB, a new customised adidas Originals capsule collection is dropping to the streets of Dubai, paying homage to the exploration of Jamaican culture at the 2019 edition of the platform for footwear, fashion, culture, art and design, which runs December 5-7.

The capsule collection showcases the rich and diverse culture of the island, and features classic adidas Originals apparel pieces, including a blue tracksuit top with the words “Negril, Jamaica’”on the back.

Referencing the colours of Negril’s sandy beaches, shallow bays and calm turquoise waters, a classic adidas blue colour-way is paired with the iconic Jamaican yellow text. The tracksuit also features a custom adidas Originals trefoil logo in the iconic green, yellow  and red of the country’s flag.

Meanwhile, a black tracksuit top featuring ‘“Kingston, Jamaica”, references the more urban, city life of Jamaica’s capital.

The collection also features two graphic print t-shirts. One, a black t-shirt, featuring an image of a boy on a BMX, shot by Maxwell Aurelien James in Tivoli Gardens, one of Kingston’s most vibrant and notorious neighbourhoods.

The second, in white, displays an image taken at Notting Hill Carnival by Farel Bisotto, a nod to the deep connection between British and Jamaican subcultures.

Last month Adidas originals announced that they are bringing legendary UK grime artist Wiley to perform at this year’s Sole DXB.

Dubbed “The Godfather of Grime”, Wiley, now 40, carved a niche for himself with his unique contributions to the genre, opening the door for other artists to come in his wake.

Wiley's performances across the weekend will no doubt be some of the festival’s biggest attractions, with an intimate set at the adidas Originals space, before hitting the main Sole DXB stage on the December 6.

Since it launched as a footwear platform in 2012, Sole DXB has grown in recent years and become  increasingly known for its edgy acts and variety of entertainment choices, as well as its many food and drink outlets.
