If the futuristic skylines, luxurious beachfront views and bustling souks on your own personal Instagram grid weren’t already proof enough, it’s now certified as official: Dubai is one of the most visually stunning cities in the entire world.
When global travel website Big 7 Travel analysed social media hashtags, audience survey results and votes cast by the team’s expert editorial team to determine the 50 most Instagrammable places on the planet, the emirate came third – beating Bali, Singapore, and Jaipur in the top 10.
From the stunning Palm Islands archipelago to the year-round guaranteed sunshine, Dubai’s reputation as one of the most spectacular cities on the planet is the product of both nature and nurture. As for which cities took the top spots – Dubai lost out on first and second place to Sydney and Hong Kong respectively. We may be biased, but we demand a recount.
“The high-flying city of the UAE, Dubai is one of the most glamorous destinations you’ll ever visit,” the Big 7 Travel team wrote. “Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline while traditional souks provide colourful photo opportunities. Your Insta feed will be full of rooftop lounges, luxury hotels and sunset sand buggying in the desert.”
Expanding on Dubai’s visual appeal in a follow-up post, the website deemed the traditional Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, jaw-dropping Madinat Jumeirah and ultra-luxurious Burj Al Arab among among the city’s top seven most Instagrammable locations, with floral wonderland Miracle Gardens ultimately taking the top spot.
