It’s as if he knew. Knew that we were all starting to struggle in our lockdown state, even though he was in a slightly stickier lockdown state himself. But just as self-isolation blindness was starting to set in, the news came that Netflix had a bonus episode of Lion King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness up its sleeve. Everything was going to be alright after all.
In classic, bizarre, Joe Exotic fashion, the news broke via the Twitter account of Justin Turner, third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, with the 23-year-old posting a video from Exotic’s nemesis, Jeff Lowe.
“You need a life,” starts Jeff in the video sent to Turner, “you’ve just wasted seven on ours. Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. They’re filming here tomorrow.”
So our friend @christie_dish listened to the podcast, @HoldingKourt and after last weeks episode decided to send us this!!!

Netflix is yet to confirm whether the release date stated by Lowe is accurate. However, one thing you can guarantee is that the time Exotic has spent in prison since has not dulled his senses for a show.
“When I walk out of here, am I going to be as crazy as before?” he asked in a recent interview with the streaming channel. “That will never change,” he answered, wearing what looked suspiciously like a Joe Exotic wig. “You know, it would be nice if I could actually see me being famous out there, but I’ve seen these same four walls for a year and a half now.”
If you haven’t had the chance to catch the Netflix show yet, the seven-part series involves the lives of big cat park owners in the US. And while Exotic is the man who has hogged the headlines, it would be doing a disservice to the show not to mention the supporting cast. One of whom may or may not have fed her husband to a tiger, one who may or may not run a weird cult out of his park, and one who is basically Scarface, but if Scarface ran a big cat park.
Where the bonus episode will pick up is anyone’s guess. But considering the global appetite for the show, combined with its general weirdness in the first place, nothing is off limits. And if it centred on Exotic being sprung from prison by a team of tigers well, let's just say we wouldn’t be surprised.
