GQ Middle East And Level Shoes Host An Evening In Honour Of Malone Souliers’ First Men’s Collection
When Malone Souliers, a brand we’ve watched our better halves wear with envy for several years, announced that they were to launch a men’s collection, we were excited. So excited, in fact that we decided to partner with designer Mary Alice Malone and Level Shoes to celebrate the launch.
Designer Mary Alice Malone’s womenswear collections have a reputation for being elegant and playful. Designed with the ethos that footwear should be worn and enjoyed, independent of the occasion, this has spilled over into the men’s collection. Malone has used materials and finishes to take something classic, like slip-on loafers, to new heights. Suede, skins and even a glitter finish all nod to that idea of great shoes for great shoes’ sake.
But how best to launch Malone Souliers’ collection of classic, glamorous shoes? By taking over a speakeasy. Poppy, at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel hosted the event, with speeches from GQ editor in chief Adam Baidawi and Mary Alice Malone. Guests also saw a short film created by GQ Middle East, exclusively for the event.
Mary Alice Malone said of the collection that she wanted to create something classic but playful. The timeless silhouettes in such vibrant finishes easily fulfill the brief.
