Ever wished you could glimpse life through David Beckham’s eyes? Turn those dreams into a reality and nail your SS20 aesthetic at the same time with a range of sunglasses and optical frames curated by the man himself.

The football legend and style icon took to Instagram to tease his debut collection, dubbed ‘DB Eyewear by David Beckham’, to his 60 million-plus followers following its official launch in Milan earlier in the week. “I'm so proud to share my first ever eyewear collection today,” he wrote, bespectacled and looking effortlessly swish as ever.

David Beckham Eyewear: What to Expect

Unnecessarily elaborate name aside – 'David Beckham Eyewear by David Beckham' is a bit of a mouthful – his ocular offering merges clean, contemporary frames with heritage design cues to create a “timeless” look and feel.

The distinguished range has been brought to life through Italian luxury eyewear manufacturer Safilo, which counts Dior, Fendi and Givenchy among its esteemed clientele. Each pair is emblazoned with The Talisman, a signature design detail inspired by the wings of a bird, as well as a distinct DB monogram.

The collection is split across six subcategories, including “vintage-inspired” Stylish Pioneers and Timeless Icons’ “retro-influenced designs”. Petrol heads will appreciate the Motorcycle frames, which offer a flush fit under motorbike helmets, while a variety of polarised, photochromic, mineral glass and orange-tinted lenses make the collection both accessible and versatile.

“I wear sunglasses all the time and this is a category that I love, so it’s important to me to work with a partner who cares as much about the design and craftsmanship of the product as I do,” Beckham said of his 10-year partnership with Safilo Group when it was announced last year.

If you’re keen to cop a pair, DB Eyewear by David Beckham – The Spring Summer 2020 collection will be available to buy from selected retailers in March.
