Here’s Your First Look At Anwar Hadid's New Luxury Jewellery Line
Anwar Hadid, the quirky younger brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, has embarked on a new career move – launching his own high-end jewellery line with co-founder Yoni Laham.
The collection, MARTYRE, focuses on creating simplistic men’s and women’s pieces designed to “capture a timeless new look.”
It boasts a series minimalist necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings, all crafted in .925 silver. Alongside this it will also include a fine jewellery capsule, accentuated with round-cut diamonds, intricate metal work and, upon request, 14k gold and rose gold options, according to Hypebeast.
Key pieces feature the phrases “EVERY SINNER DIES A SAINT” and “PRAY FOR US” while others are branded with the “MARTYRE” logo.
“Our pieces are intentionally designed with ease of wearability for both men and women. It’s our mission to restore the substance and symbolism of jewellery and allow customers to find a personal meaning in each piece,” said Ryan Benson, MARTYRE’s head of design and creative.
The 19-year-old was raised in a family of super models (mother Yolanda was a model during the 1980s, and two sisters, Bella and Gigi, have posed for the likes of Vogue, GQ and Vanity Fair), so has always had some big – and stylish – shoes to fill.
“[Being in the limelight is] just not part of his nature,” Anwar’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, told W earlier this year. “Anwar’s actually kind of shy. Unless I push him into things, he likes to be in the background and do his thing.”
While shy he may be, Anwar’s signature grunge-inspired style has been the focus of many street style photographers’ lenses as of late, with the model consciously adding low-key flexes, like his signature cross-body fanny pack (which he owns in a plethora of colourways and style, we might add) to please his fans.
“[Style] is just about being able to express yourself every day, especially when you wake up in the morning. It’s about how you can create art on a regular basis with small details,” Anwar told GQ during a recent shoot. “I’d explain my style as super casual – I just wear the stuff in my closet that I feel comfortable in. I try to find pieces that I know I’ll love to wear all the time. I wear the same stuff quite often.”
Inspired by “eccentric personalities who passionately seek out paintings, antiques, rare objects and other vintage collectables,” the pieces are priced from $195 up to $795, the collection is available now exclusively at MARTYRE’s official website.
