Uniqlo are no stranger to a collaboration, having previously worked with the likes of the Shonen Jump manga franchise, Mickey Mouse and more recently the announcement of their Star Wars collection thanks to the help of Jun Takahashi of UNDERCOVER and Tetsu Nishiyama of WTAPS.

Spearheaded by Japanese streetwear, music and entrepreneurial magnate Nigo, Uniqlo UT has become of the most prominent touching points between the worlds of pop culture fandom and streetwear, while cementing itself as an affordable label with a street style flex.

Now, there’s a new collaboration that fans of the brand and fashion lovers alike can get excited about. Following up on collaborations with Peanuts and Sesame Street, KAWS and Uniqlo will be joining forces for another Uniqlo UT release. The catch is, this time the focus will be on the beloved characters created by the Brooklyn-based artist himself.

The 45-year-old creative took to social media to tease his latest collection with the Japanese manufacturer. Available in adult as well as kids sizing, the co-branded range comprises of a line-up of T-shirts printed with KAWS’ instantly recognisable artwork.

In one of the designs, you can even make out the Companion holding onto a small, pink BFF. Another style featured an all-over graphic which was reminiscent of the recent KAWS:HOLIDAY installation displayed in Hong Kong.

With the help of his Companion figure, KAWS showcased the capsule on Instagram: “COMPANION was super disappointed that someone leaked photos of m new collection with @uniqlo so he thought it best to just show you a few.”

While the official launch date is yet to be announced, we will certainly keep you up to date on all the latest about the KAWS x Uniqlo UT collection which also looks to be available in adult and children’s sizes.
