Is it just us, or are we perpetually on the verge of a new Air Jordan release these days? Hey, not that we’re complaining, it can just a little tough to keep up, especially when – almost full disclosure – we may or may not have had to delete our StockX app for fear of bankruptcy.
Regardless, the next few months are looking pretty strong, even in Brand Jordan terms, with a whole host of silhouettes dropping for the 30th anniversary of legendary Air Jordan 4.
First sighted on the feet of Michael Jordan in the 1998-89 NBA season, it quickly worked its way into sneaker folklore. firstly for having the tech detail to wear on the court and the style chops to wear off it, and secondly right about the time that the "Fire Red" iteration was seen in Spike Lee's iconic Do The Right Thing.
Just to add to the hype, last week's Figures of Speech exhibition at MCA Chicago saw Virgil Abloh sharing a few pictures that included previously unreleased samples of his Off-White x Nike collab – with beige all leather Jordan 4 being the undoubted highlight.
Ok, so unless you're ridiculously connected – or damn lucky in a raffle – that particular shoe may be a little pie in the sky, but on June 14 you'll have the chance to pick up a special first ever Flyknit variation on the iconic 30-year-old silhouette that comes in series of eye-watering colours, including "Universtity Red" and "Hyper Blue".
Miss that cut, and well, you just have to wait a little longer for the next Jordan 4 drop – complete with "Cool Grey" colourway and silver Jumpman – in August.
