For rapper Travis Scott, nothing is ever done with the goal to be inconspicuous. From his fashion style to his cars, Scott oozes a sense of style that is as dazzling to the eye as it is to the bank account. Just recently, he showed off his slick new Bugatti Chiron – a vehicle the rapper revealed was a gift to himself. As you do, Scott. But when you’re as successful as Scott, it’s likely that those things you choose to reward yourself with are a little more luxurious than, say, a glass of red on a Friday night. And if his latest timepiece is anything to go by, Scott is enjoying far more success than the rest of us.
Sitting courtside at a Houston Rockets game earlier this year (a time when sport was still a thing to be played in front of sold-out stadiums pre-COVID-19), Scott rocked a rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. How the players were able to focus on the ball and not on the dazzling display on Scott’s wrist is beyond us, because for the rest of the crowd and those watching on the small screen, it was Scott’s watch that copped all our attention – and for good reason, too.

@travisscott was recently spotted with his new $3,000,000 Bugatti “Chiron” wearing an @audemarspiguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked ‘Rainbow’ 37mm in 18K white gold set with 32 baguette-cut ‘rainbow-coloured’ sapphires. This timepiece has a list price of $117,600.00 but on market it goes for around $150,000.00 dollars. #AudemarsPiguet Photo : Backgrid
While Piguet are known for their incredible and sophisticated timepieces, Scott boasts a rare iteration. This version of the Swiss watchmaker’s popular silhouette is particularly notable for its colourful rainbow gemstones. Featuring 32 baguette-cut rainbow-coloured sapphires on the bezel, that isn’t where the luxury stops with this watch. The case and band are rendered in 18K white gold and have even been updated to shimmer using Audemars Piguet’s signature Florentine technique which has since earned the moniker “Frosted Gold”. So outstanding is the machinery, that the watchmaker even removed the dial to leave the sophisticated technical details exposed.
It’s a particularly fetching timepiece, one that’s sure to leave every watch aficionado drooling with envy over such details and meticulous design. As Trill Magazine suggests, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is believed by those in the watch industry to be a counter to Rolex’s Daytona “Rainbow”. And while the watch has an official “price upon request” label alongside it, it’s known to hit the market for a cool $150,000 USD (approx. $228,000 AUD). Now that’s a serious flex we can all get around. Hats off to you, Scott.
